Wireless Industry Venture Capital Synopsis

March 1 – March 31: Private companies in mobile raised $1.1 billion in 118 venture capital deals during the month. The largest investments included Tango’s $280 million financing, FunPlus’s $74 million financing, ServiceMax’s $71 million financing, and MuleSoft’s $50 million financing. New ideas included Acorns’ micro-investing application, Blend’s photo-sharing and brand rewards application, TrueVault’s HIPAA-compliance API, and Lookback’s user interface analytics tool. Investment themes included anonymous social applications, mobile CRM applications, and mobile news applications.
